I like that one can separate them into different circles but why is it that I feel I'd lose control of my photos on Picasa? Also, what sets it apart from Facebook? Still exploring...

I'm still getting use to it! And I think the biggest thing that sets it apart from FB right now is that its privacy settings are seemingly easier to set....

Yeah, it has the compartmentalize ability but I do feel Facebook could easily be tweaked to include that function if it should choose to. Still, Google ought to come up with something more promising than just a change in privacy setting!

There's also the Hangout feature. Have you tried that yet? It's kinda fun!

No, I don't have that much time now that I'm not in China, LOL... There are a lot more distractions in Hong Kong ;-) Not to mention I've got to get some income stream in to support those shopping!!! :p

With regard to Google, while I like their collaboration function, I still feel that the company is like an octopus now. It's trying to grab anything or everything that's highly profitable instead of trying to come up with something uniquely theirs as well as more innovative!

Being a public company and having to answer to shareholders can hamper one's creativity and innovation!

About this topic

Google+ is a social networking service operated by Google. The service launched on June 28, 2011, in an invite-only testing phase. Google+ will be built as a layer that not only integrates different Google social services, such as Google Profiles and Google Buzz, but also introduces many new features including Circles, Hangouts, Sparks and Huddles. It has been said that this is Google's biggest attempt to rival the social network Facebook, which had over half a billion users in 2010.

Users of Google+ will be able to see updates from those in their circles through the "Stream," which is similar to Facebook's news feed. The input box allows users to enter a status update or use icons to upload and share photo and videos.
