Very Versatile Tool.

Over the years I have come across many tools of great value but, none as valuable as the eight inch Crescent wrench. You will find many uses for this tool and you can find this at just about any hardware store for right around ten dollars. This is just a adjustable type wrench and is made out of heavy duty forged steel.

Description
The total length of this wrench is as the name says; it is 8” in length and only weighs 7.6 ounces. This head is wider than the rest of the body, and is 2 1/8” wide and ½” thick. This is the working end and the jaws will open up to the maximum width of 1”. The handle will fit snuggly into your hand and is ¼” thick and one inch wide. This wrench also has a ½” hole in the end of the handle to allow you to hang this up anywhere you see fit to.

Experience
You may as well call this a disposable wrench because it comes with no warranty what so ever. This wrench is very valuable to the point that you can use it in just about any situation that you may need it to work. As long as you use this properly you should never round off any hardware that you are trying to take off.

When you first put this on the nut or bolt, use you thumb or finger to roll the adjusting screw to allow the jaws to fit snuggly around the abject. You can rotate the adjusting screw one way to tighten and the opposite way to loosen the jaws. Then make sure that the head is pointing away from you, and then always pull the wrench towards your body. Never push on the wrench, if you do happen to push instead of pull this is usually how you will end up rounding off the object that you are trying to remove.

This wrench will fit comfortably in your back or side pocket of your overalls. The end hole on the wrench will allow you to clip this on a hook that you slip over your belt for easy access and removal when needed. I have used this for many types of different jobs from using this to back up another wrench, or using this to be the main force to remove a bolt. They do sell other lengths which include 6”, 8”, 10”, and 12”, for different applications. I have all of these inside of my tool box, and all of them have come in handy at one time or another.

Whether I am on the job or at home this is a very universal tool that will usually do the job without spending a lot of time looking for the proper size. But, if you need an exact size then I would use either a combination wrench or box end, or open end wrench to do the job. But, if you are in a hurry then this is the wrench for you, there is no need to search through your toolbox only to find that you have lost or have misplaced that ½” wrench that you may need.

This type of wrench has been around longer than I have, so it goes to show you that someone made a mint off of this invention no matter what brand name that you have. This wrench is known throughout the industry and whenever you get on the job the contractor usually purchases these in bulk demand so that everyone can do the job at hand with out slowing them down.

Conclusion
If you get this for free how can you complain? But, if you have to pay for it, you probably would like to see it do a good job for you. This wrench will do a multitude of different things for you and in the quickest fashion that you could think and it is very durable. You could drop this from a couple of hundred feet and try to use it after it has hit the ground and it will be just like the Eveready bunny it will keep on working. Two stars for this one, but there are better quality ones on the market.
