Sometimes there's nothing better than some lip smackin', finger lickin' BBQ! Luckily LYD resides in Texas so there is no shortage of great tasting barbecue. Well, LYD found an absolute gem this time: a quaint, homey joint where you can get some down-home cooking right in downtown Dallas!

Hickory House BBQ is not much to look at but right away LYD felt at home! It is a dive in the truest sense, and what's better than that if you're looking for real barbecue? As you enter or even as you are parking, as it was in our case, you are greeted kindly by down right lovely Hickory House BBQ staff who even offer curbside service! The menu of this lil' pink barbecue pit contains all your favorites, but it doesn't stop there. You can try the Gyro sandwich, a fresh Greek salad, or even hummus! Hickory House's owner hails from Greece and likes to mix the Texas style barbecue with his Greek heritage. Make sure you check the special of the day which starts at $5.99 and comes with three homemade sides! The fried okra are just delectable! Hickory House also has a great breakfast selection that could rival IHOP any day, but with more home-style service. The wait-staff (and cooks!) really is outstanding and will tell you exactly what they think of the menu, and they know their stuff! There is just no excuse for missing out on this truly great and unique BBQ experience when you could have car-hop service, phenomenal and helpful wait staff, home-style breakfast and scrumptious BBQ! Don't forget the extra napkins!

LYD says: If you happen to walk in on a Wednesday, you must get Wednesday's special- the fall-off-the-bone messy barbecue ribs with fried okra, potato salad, and green beans.
