What Alarm Systems Do That Dogs Can't

Most people consider dogs as an alternative to home security systems. These people prefer the tried and tested one rather than the new technological stuff. Home security devices such as alarm systemsare surely not pets, but they are in no doubt effective in securing your safety day in and day out. And when it comes to comparing both capabilities, just what can home security systems do that dogs can't?

Protection When Away
Most dogs are stuck in their kennel when their owners are away. This tendency doesn't do anything to stop a burglar to break into your home. A dog can only deter the burglars when the owners are away, its actions are only limited to barking and biting and not calling the police. You should also take into consideration that dogs can also be manhandled by burglars if they need to.

With security alarm systems, you get the full treatment even when you're away. Alarms will be sounded, cops will be called, and the burglar would be caught. The burglars can't handle the whole system like the way it handle dogs. Also, these devices function 24/7 while dogs sleep.

Hidden Costs
When you install an alarm system in your home, the only cost that you should be wary of is installation and increase in electricity bills. You have options as well, whether to install wireless sensors or the ones which are hardwired. Dogs, on the other hand, should be treated like humans do. They need to be fed, bathed, attended by a doctor, among else.

Sure, security alarm systems in its most intricate installation costs about US$1,000 while dogs and the other expenses with it, costs about US$875 per year, but what if you will be needing protection for several years? Surely, alarm systems are much better.

When it comes to security, all things must be covered and nothing should be haphazardly done. You don't want to end only deterring burglars from your house, you want to capture them. Also, come to think of it, would you let dogs, them considered being "man's best friend", be in the front lines of a break in?
