Horse Sayings- Wit and Wisdom Straight from the Horse's Mouth by Bradford G. Wheler depicts
the horse in all of its glory together with continued human interest in the equine. The
presentation has pearls of wisdom from horse humor, competition, ancient wisdom, training and
many other aspects of horses unbeknownst to the public generally but well known to horse
enthusiasts. There are illustrations by 61 artists from 11 countries.

Some classic pearls of wisdom are cited by horse enthusiasts throughout the centuries.
For instance, Sir Winston Churchill said that When you are on a great horse, you have
the best seat you will ever have.
Benjamin Franklin said that  A man in passion rides
a mad horse.
Plato noted that People then, are not friend to horses unless their horses
love them in return.
Marcus Aurelius stated It is also good to pet the beast while he eats
so that he will relax.

Wheler presents full color pictures of horses in action. The most stunning pictures
depict horses of Achilles, a white stallion in motion, horse race snapshots, polo action
snapshots and an ocean scene depicting a horse walking on the beach.

Wheler presents a very detailed biographical section on the artists and photographers
whose work appears throughout the book. The list includes artists; such as, Marika Anderson,
Charles Andrews III, Sergio Bartolacelli, Laurence Cassin, Sabrina Epifani, Polly Hollabird,
Yvonne Lautenschlager and Jeanne M. Thieme to name just a few. Noted photographers
include Kerry Ball, Romain Brumby, Jackie Cercek, Gene Gissin, Kyleen Hafferkamp, Susan Kordish,
Christian Lathom-Sharp, Sian Lewis, Hannah Tippett and Julie Wheler.

Horse Sayings by Bradford G. Wheler would be a perfect gift for children and adults alike.
The presentation is easy to read and the pictures are spectacular. There is a rich literary
tradition cited with references from George Eliot, William Faulkner, Benjamin Franklin, Homer,
Henry Wadsworth Longfellow, Plato, Carl Sandburg, George Bernard Shaw, Mark Twain
and Walt Whitman.
