As publicists, marketers, and new media strategists, we answer to people who don't neccessarily understand the value of authenticity. Brian Solis, author of Engage, discussed what it takes to keep your audience not only engaged, but enthralled.

Some quotes I especially liked:

"Twitter is our Woodstock."

"Attention becomes the major currency in content commerce."

"Brands need to think like media."

"We engage in a social ecosystem, but where do we send them? We are defining experiences but engagement is just the beginning."

He talks about using Twitter, Facebook, and other means of reaching out in new media.

Brian has a deep insight where it comes to relating to the people who the brands are trying to reach, understanding that this business *is* personal. It is absolutely possible to have a strategy and remain authentic. In fact, it's the ideal approach.

I ♥ Brian's work. I like to think of myself as somewhat knowledgeable of Web 2.0/Social Media, and Brian helped me immeasurably when I first got involved with this three, four years ago. I agree with everything he says, and with what you wrote. Thanks for sharing.....

I would hope that Brian Solis knew how to engage! :P  I don't know about Twitter being our Woodstock but I love engaging in social media and am always looking to learn more about it.  I like that take away you had -- that one can have a game plan yet remain authentic.  Thanks for sharing!

By the way, I added some info to the wiki to the right of the page.  Helps your readers learn more about what you're writing about and you can totally edit that yourself, too, by clicking on the little pencil symbol ;)
