Hunter Hayes Releases New Single --- "Somebody's Heartbreak"
Oct 21, 2012
Hunter Hayes has had incredible success with his first two extremely popular singles, “Storm Warning” and “Wanted.” Now with his third single heading to radio I have a strong feeling “Somebody’s Heartbreak” will follow suit in being a fan favorite and a chart topping success. Don’t let the youthful look of this country newcomer fool you. Hunter is a force to be reckoned with. With a long list of musical instruments he has mastered, a voice that can be a tad reminiscent of Gary Levox from Rascal Flatts, and songs that demand your attention, Hunter is proving he has staying power. In addition, the girls seem to LOVE him (hey…it didn’t hurt Elvis’s career right?).
The single “Somebody’s Heartbreak” has a slightly different feel than his last two singles, which demonstrates the diversity of his album (available now). It is a mid-tempo, somewhat soulful song with lyrics about love,
“If you’re gonna be somebody’s heartbreak / If you’re gonna be somebody’s mistake / If you’re gonna be somebody’s first time, somebody’s last time, baby be mine / If you’re lookin’ to be somebody’s just friends / A little laughin’, little lovin’, never callin’ again, that’s just fine / If you’re gonna be somebody’s heartbreak / Be mine.”
I can certainly see this song being a radio favorite. It is just one of those songs that instantly catches your ear and leaves an impression. Hunter infuses a bit of pop in his country, but nevertheless it works for him. I actually just recently had the opportunity to see Hunter perform this song live and the crowd already knew all the words and went CRAZY for it. “Somebody’s Heartbreak” will definitely catch on like wild fire and continue to perpetuate Hunter’s career.
Hunter Hayes has both a full-length self-titled album and a Live EP available now on iTunes. In addition, “Somebody’s Heartbreak” heads to radio October 22nd so you can call and request it.
