We were shopping for an iPod dock for a while, and most of the iPod docks were too big for our likings, since our primary use for the dock is to entertain our son (with the iPod video playing Thomas the Tank Engine) while we are away from home, so we needed something that's small and battery powered.
We came across this little iPod dock system and it fit perfectly with what we needed, the sound quality was not our primary concern, but after we bought it, it actually sounds very decent for the small size, and it uses standard AAA batteries, and the battery life is pretty good, we used it on and off for a couple of weeks, and it is still going strong. You can also use the power cable that came with it if you have access to a power socket, and if plugged in, it serves as the iPod charger as well (it won't charge when you are using battery though). The package also includes a small remote control, but we don't really need it, since we mostly use if for the iPod video, and with the small screen, it's usually very close by. The dock itself is a bit bigger than a portable CD player, so it's very portable, we can put it in a bag and bring it with us anywhere, A couple of small problems I had with this unit, the battery door is very loose, and very easy to came off, and the speaker will produce some weird resonance with certain music, although most of the movies/music sounds fine without any problem, but overall we are very happy with this dock and will recommend it to anyone that need a portable and nice sounding iPod dock.
