I reviewed another set from this series not to long ago and this one is just as good especially certain shorts. There are more in the series so hopefully I can get around to the other sets as well. Until then I have this one to go over and like I said before it has some good stuff on it.
PEONY LAMP-this was a real good one that I enjoyed a lot, the story was basically a love story with a ghostly element. Shinzaburo is broken up after the death of the girl he loved but to his surprise she comes back to him one night. She insists that she faked her death but his friend knows better and warns him of spirits returning from the grave to take someone back with them. The story from here is really entertaining.
SHE BEAR-now this one right here is straight horror and takes an urban legend about a collector to heart. 2 girls have heard of a rumor about a woman that goes after you and once she has you takes things from you. These things of course could very well be parts of you, literally.
YAMABA-this is the tale of a mountain demon that devours every one it catches, it likes to trick people by disguising its self as an old woman and such. In this story 2 reporters are sent to a small village in search of this creature for a story. They don't believe it but something is not right with the townspeople there, they will soon find out what.
NURAIHYON-this is the story of a mischievous spirit who is light hearted and mainly likes to play around. He is seen mostly by a boy who befriends the spirit and finds his pranks funny, until a dangerous group of strangers arrive in the night.
HEARTBROKEN TRIP-two best friends are planning a weekend get away together to an inn that they know of. The reason they are doing this is because one of them was just dumped by her boyfriend. So they agree to meet there but she who arrives first will not have a good time. In the middle of the night strange things start to happen and her friend may or may not have anything to do with what is going on.
LOST SOULS-one of the creepier tales on the set is about a late night noodle shop and the frequent customers that are there. A young couple has had a long drive and needs to stop and eat, so they do. Everything is going fine until a family walks in, seems normal enough until the cook tells the couple to eat and leave. When rushed by him they ask why and all he can say is "don't look at that family".
The stories here are very good and entertaining but those who can't stand low budget need to stay away. Still it is a fun set with some good stories that I think you would enjoy, the entire set is worth a look. Some are better than others and that goes for the acting as well but none are straight horrible. I say give it a try and the other sets as well if you can find them.

I basically am just a normal person obbsessed with Mixed Martial Arts, pro wrestling, movies of all kinds, music of all kinds, books of all kinds, and of course foods of all kinds. Just trying to keep … more
