Picky eaters drive me a bit crazy. By picky I mean won’t eat red meat or chicken, hate condiments, tomatoes, onions and mushrooms and don’t drink beer. It’s especially challenging when those picky eaters are visiting your city and you are in charge of hosting them, feeding them, entertaining them and overall making sure they are perfectly happy. So as you can imagine finding a brunch spot to accommodate all the demands of my guests can be quite the challenge.
Which is why I delight/covet/praise the heavens for one of my favorite casual eateries…Jerry’s! This place has a menu packed with so many edible choices that my even my most complicated friends look entirely simple. Plus it's in a great neighborhood (Wicker Park) on an awesome street (Division) which makes finding spots to shop, drink, or listen to music post eating as easy as walking down the street.

The low-down: Jerry’s is basically sandwich city - with over 100 choices.
How it works: You select a sandwich, for example, the Spence M (bacon, PB, apple, basil and cranberry) or the ‘Jerry’s Top 10’ selection (like the Green J: roasted chicken, avocado, basil, provolone, and pesto), then, pair your delight with a choice of two mouth-watering sides. We’re talking mashed potatoes, mac & cheese, corn on-the-cob, pasta salad …the list goes on. For those who can’t be pleased with any one of the 100 menu options, a seriously elaborate make-your-own sandwich is a please-all solution.

Another reason to go by yourself or take your friends: The outdoor patio! A perfect place to sit and be seen, or to check out the scene. In addition, they host live music nights that support emerging Chicago artists. Plus, if you must nosh late night they conveniently stay open til 2am Wed.-Sat and offer over 100 micro-brew options. With Jerry’s you get everything you could ask for and more!
