Ram Dass sets the stage for one to begin their journey into the world of meditation and spirituality. In this book he discusses why one would meditate, the effects of meditation, difference techniques, how to overcome obstacles you may face and why these obstacles may exist. This text is useful in providing someone new to this subject matter with a guide to begin, but lacks in details and some of the more complex philosophy which I feel is of use to someone interested in this type of material. If you are curious about meditation, then this book is a perfect start, but if you are already familiar with many of its aspects I would suggest a more challenging read, such as Mind at Ease by Traleg Kyabgon.
