There's no place like home when you're the Division I . This team is a legitimate basketball powerhouse, and they're playing like one too. Winning the last 12 straight, Coach Bill Self has his team right where he wants them going into the postseason.
There are very good reasons why most sports analysts have ranked Kansas No. 1 for much of the season. Because of their vaunted position, and the fact that it's Kansas basketball, everyone from their star player down to the water boy endures loads of critical attention. Recently, super guard has been getting plenty of heat for slumping offensively even though his averages would scare anyone not from Kansas. He is undeniably the team leader, and Coach Self is rightly sticking with him despite thousands of unsolicited advisers. Meanwhile, all the focus on Collins has allowed his teammate in the backcourt, Xavier Henry, to break out from his shadow. Henry averages another 14 points a game, often much more when Collins is off-the-mark, making sure to frequently cause havoc in the lane. The big guy in the middle is Cole Aldrich, who comes out his games this season averaging a double-double. Aldrich cleans up the boards on both sides of the court and never gets caught jogging into position.
Big 12 Conference play, Kansas is quick on transition and dangerous on execution. They have depth on the bench – their first five off the bench could start on most NCAA teams. Even more scary, Kansas won the whole thing two years ago. Remember ' last-second three to take the team into overtime? If you don't here's the video. It's moment's like these that make it all worth watching.in
