Song by Kate Perry

Wait, haven't I heard this before...?

  • Jul 14, 2011
So I've heard this song for about the thousandth time in the gym this week which is amazing considering how little I've been in the gym. If you're one of the 5 people in the country who haven't heard this yet, here it is...

Apart from being a little freaked out about the alien fetish, which is honestly very new to me, I suddenly had feeling of deja vu. Around the 1:30 mark in the video above after Kanye has performed as little rapping as you can get away with for a million bucks, it turns into:

Meet taTu - now Americans may not know much about the Russian teens pretending to be lesbians and how successful this schoolgirl fantasy track was in Europe, but trust me it was big deal for teenaged boys.

While the lesbian schoolgirl thing made people a little uneasy, it's amazing that Kate Perry's managed to get away with a song about banging E.T. I'd honestly never thought about getting E.T. between the sheets while he was trying to phone home but let me tell you that after a few minutes with Ms Perry, he'd be looking for a new phone provider. Especially if Kanye starts rapping again.

Anyway, the "similarities" between these two songs have already been noticed by another YouTuber who gives us:

I think Kate has some explaining to do beyond the obvious issues of how you expect to seduce those lanky guys from Signs who didn't like water.

Great catch! I hadn't thought of that but, then again, though, I've heard of taTu, I don't really know their songs (just their world famous school girl lesbianism lol).

I should also mention my complete lack of musical talent, so I could be wrong. Very wrong.

"All the Things She Said" kind of reminds me of that song "Zombie" by the Cranberries.

Ahhh.... good catch.

My daughter loves this song (ET) and she plays it over and over. Seeing the lyrics on YouTube though, I don't see this song as a girl having an alien fetish; instead it appears, to me anyway, that the love she has for her man is comparable to being extra-terrestrial and totally out of this world.

That's probably a more accurate interpretation. I think I've been watching too much science fiction and eating cheese at night. Then I saw that film Splice where there actually was some, ahem, "bizarre stuff".
