Send me some roasted pork, crunch!!!

  • Jul 8, 2011
Well, after my few day trips to Macau this year, I'm afflicted to roasted pork from Macau, to my horror! I'm really not a pork person! This is contrary to the taste buds of many Chinese, I must admit.

Roasted pork is not a new item either. It's prevalent in Singapore and for most  part, a snack one must have during the Chinese New Year. In fact, roasted pork is commonly found now in many Chinese societies in Asia, notably, Singapore, Hong Kong, Macau and China.

But... hear me out. This is NOT the usual roasted pork you and I are familiar with. It's roasted pork with a twist or two. It's one that's from wild boar (野山猪) and also one that's crunchy! Have you ever tasted pork that's crunchy?!?!?! I've caught your attention, haven't I?

Koikei has a great many snacks which are good, some of which are the almond cookies, white-sesame peanut candies and dried olive. Egg roll is also a favorite for many.

The reason why I like the snacks from Macau is mostly due to the fact that many of them are crunchy and yummy! It's just a tad expensive and that's why it's a +4 rating and not +5, hehe...

Now that Macau is the gaming capital of the world with revenue exceeding that of Las Vegas, (yes... you hear me right!) and with increasing number of Chinese visiting the city, Koikei is making brisk business and has even expanded to Hong Kong! So, how about lowering some of the prices? ;-)

For visitors hoping to buy some of these goodies home for friends and families, you can easily find an outlet of Koikei each in Causeway Bay, Tsim Sha Tsui & Mongkok, Hong Kong. For those who does venture to the exciting city of Macau, Koikei can be found at the Venetian, Dream City and a few other locations in the city. For a list of outlets, click here

Happy snacking!!!

Shhhh,,,, don't test my luck & the magic potion! ;-) May be I'll stick to QT-type of reviews, hehe... All these social media sites are a tad too time-consuming now that I've access to all of them!

Darn, I need to get some serious work done!
