I'm starting to wonder if I have a strange fascination with single-serving microwaveable mac & cheese, as this is the third review I've written of such things. Anyway, Kraft's Velveeta Shells & Cheese is a relatively decent quick meal when you're on the road or stuck in an office.
It's pretty easy to prepare as well. Simply pull off the lid, add water to the indicated line, nuke for roughly three and one half minutes, stir in the included pack of cheese sauce, wait a couple of minutes and enjoy.
The primary thing that sets this mac& cheese apart from the others is Velveeta's token "cheese sauce." Instead of a powder or pre-mixed cheese in the noodles, the "sauce" actually looks a bit like melted cheese. It stirs into the cooked noodles quite well and tastes okay.
I wouldn't necessarily drive out of my way to pick this stuff up, but if you're pinned down to paperwork and just have to have something to eat, this mac & cheese will suffice.
I tried the Velveeta Shells and Cheese Cup for the first time last night when I was getting a little hungry and happened to pass by them in a drug store. This microwavable pasta and cheese concoction is pretty tasty.
