I remember shopping at Lands' End when I was child and have the image of bland, boring clothes stuck in my head. There was nothing special to look at just racks and racks of your everyday basics. So, when I heard about the launch of Lands' End Canvas I was a bit skeptical of what this line would entail. I have to admit, it's a definite step in the right direction compared to Lands' End and their swimwear is actually would caught my attention. It reminded me of pieces from J.Crew but at a much lower price point.
There are also some basic Heritage Oxford shirts, that I can see college students wearing around campus. At a moderately low price point, I think Lands' End Canvas might have a fighting chance. Everything these days is about revamping and modifying the old, so let's hope Lands' End pulls it off!
I have been a Lands' End shopper since the 1980s. It's a nice place for preppy basics, the quality is generally solid, and the customer service is absolutely sterling. The 'return anything anytime' guarantee is not mere marketing gimmick; they really do take it back.
