If You Need a Christmas Gift Idea Here is The One For You.

Many Millenniums ago I used to have a toy called “See and Say” from Fisher Price, where it was basically did the same thing as this one but on a much lower skill level. Just as in the days of old, we are still looking for learning toys to amuse out infants. This might not be a “See and Say” but it will do the same thing. Leap Frog has jumped into the ring with Fisher Price and they are staying right with them. We found this on clearance at Wal-Mart for a mere $15.00; you could not beat that price for a learning toy.

This toy weighs less than two pounds and is approximately 6’ x 8” x 9” in diameter. This also has a volume control button on one side of the base and a switch on the other to change this toy to the music to letter and animal mode. This is a very lightweight toy so it can be knocked over easily, the center wheel will spin when your child gets the hang of spinning it, until then you will have to do it for them. This also has two arrows that light up while it is spinning and when it stops then the toy will say a letter and an animal noise and name that it stops on.  On both sides of this toy they will get a light and music show. There are enough animals to cover the whole 26 letter alphabet. This also requires 3 “AA” batteries that will operate the light and sound of this toy.

We have eight grandchildren so it sometimes will be hard to find a toy that will hold their interest, but we have found that even though this does tip over a lot it will keep them interested for hours. The main reason for the tipping over is because when the hit it to spin it they are too rough with it and spin to hard. They just figure that the faster it goes, it might do something different. This toy will help your child develop better motor skills and eye hand co-ordination. We have also found that this will not do repetitive stopping, which means that this will stop on a different letter each time that your child spins the wheel. This is an excellent Christmas gift for any toddler and will last for years to come. This is very durable and can take a beating. Our little granddaughter is just in the first part of the walking stages and she like to take her toys with her but she drops them a lot. This is one of her favorites and it get dropped quite a bit but after she drops it we just stand it back up and it still spins and sings the way we would expect it to.

In my book any toy that is this cheap and can take a beating by a toddler deserves a medal. This is a very valuable toy to keep around for all of your other kids and if you get tired of it just put away for a later date and then bring it back out and the kids will think that it is a brand new toy and it will keep their interest just as if you bought it yesterday. I can highly recommend this for any parent or grandparent for a Christmas gift or just a regular birthday party gift. Five stars for this toy.
