A very long drawn out story. I read this in high school, forgetting much of what the book was about. What I did learn was important though, that we can follow the letter of the law or the spirit of the law. This book can be read at different times in life and interpreted just as differently.

I'm partial to this as it takes place in France, but in any case, my favorite aspect of this book is the dynamic characters.
