Excellent Investment, and Good Bonding With Your Child.
   When I was young my parents purchased a Lionel set for me for Christmas and since then I have purchased my son a set. But, now that we only have a daughter left at home the more common that the kids nowadays recognize is the Polar Express Train set from Lionel. This model is a look alike to a cast iron train from the movie Polar Express. This Berkshire steam locomotive will shoot real puffs of steam out of the smoke stack once it gets warmed up, this also has a operating headlight and a air whistle. Along with the locomotive you will get a CW-80 transformer that will allow you to switch the motion of the train from forward to reverse and the neutral with just a simple turn of a knob. This locomotive has all of the characteristics of the real one, this includes the die-cast body and shape, inside of the locomotive there is a care free maintenance free engine that has two friction tires and even the side hand rails look authentic. Along with all of this, you will get to see silhouettes' from the lighting that cast shadows from the inside. This whole set only weighs just a shade under thirty pounds.
You will also receive two passenger lighted cars, 1 observation car, 1 Santa Bell, 4 figures that are close replicas of the characters of the movie,1 bottle of the fluid to make smoke come out of the engine, a 40" x 60" oval track (which comes in 8 curved and 4 straight sections) 1 power terminal and one book. Ours train set is the O-gage  set which will cost a considerable amount more than the G-gage.
