When you are having trouble keeping your nuts in one spot then go to the store and purchase a tube of this threadlocker red 271 from "Locktite". This little tube of hardening liquid juice comes in a small 0.20 ounce  container, and can be found at any hardware and home improvement store for only $7.00.

Description
This nut and thread locker comes in a red plastic 0.20oz. tube, with a screw down lid. The liquid inside is a transparent red in color (just like transmission fluid)and has no real odor to speak of. You have to be careful because this product has methacrylate ester in it,(used to make thermoplastic polymers or copolymers). This Is very high in strength and will take a lot of heat, but needs heat to separate it. This ingredient has been known to cause cancer, so try and not get this on your skin. This will only take a small drop to work properly.

Experience
For best results I usually make sure that whatever I am using this on, is dry and free of dirt and oil. The main reason that I purchased this product, was because there was a screw on our patio doors handle, that kept coming out from being tugged on every time that we opened it up to let the dogs out. When you get tired of something like this happening you finally do something about it.

One simple drop did the trick. Make sure that you shake the little tube up to make sure that the liquid inside has not separated while not in use. This product only takes ten minutes to set up, so make sure that your nut or screw in where you want it to be. The only way to get this out after it totally cures (after 24 hours) is by heating the product up to 450° to 500°, but I don't think you want to heat up a handle on your patio doors to that temperature. I have used this on metal screws and nuts, on the car and in the house and it has held every time.

There was one time that I tried to remove the screw without heating it, but I destroyed the screw in the process. To separate the two objects you will need to do it while they are still hot. You can use this on dissimilar materials if you use a primer and that is the only way that I have found this to work if you have two different metals.

Conclusion
This is just what the doctor ordered if you have a stubborn nut that keeps coming off. But, once you let it cure for 24 hours you are stuck with the results. No matter which type of Locktite that you use it generally takes the same amount of time to set up and cure. I have used several types over the years and they all seemed to work very well.
