Definitely this band's best record. Even though their style is limited, the seven songs on this disc are excellent. Lazy is one of the major highlights with the searing spooky organ effects and the eventual heavy blues jam. Blackmore shows off some great guitar chops. Then there is the classic riffs of Smoke On The Water and Space Truckin'. Ian Gillian is in top flight vocal form on the later track. Never Before is an overlooked gem. Love the keyboard solo at the end. A super disc indeed

Home of "Smoke on the Water" and "Highway Star,"Machine Headblends proto-metal density with epic arrangements, resulting in a record that's far more grandiose than the sum of its parts.--Jon Wiederhorn
