With a name like Madonna Nash, how could she not be a star?
Madonna Nash, the beautiful fresh face from North Carolina, brings us an awesome 13-track album recorded in Nashville. I must admit, I didn’t expect a lot when I put her CD in my player, but right off the bat I found myself singing along with her first single, “Dirty Little Secret”. Following suit, the second track, “Firefly” quickly got set to ‘repeat’ until I knew all the words!
Nash wrote or co-wrote every track on her album, but unlike some other artists, each song has a different storyline and a style of its own. Tracks like “Swingin’ Door” and “Out of Sight” sound like hits from a Miranda Lambert album, with their themes of saying goodbye with confidence, while “Drive” and “Destiny” could have come from a Carrie Underwood one. Lyrics like “…what I don’t know can’t hurt me, what can’t get me don’t deserve me” prove that just about any song on her project could be a radio single, capturing both young adults and older listeners with her smooth voice and up-tempo, passionate lyrics.
It is difficult to believe this is Madonna Nash’s debut album, as professionally written and recorded as it is! I’m glad I was lucky enough to come across her CD, and anyone hungry for music from the hottest new thing in music will appreciate knowing her album won’t be leaving my CD player for a while!
