It's not his fault swimming has a zillion events

I am one of those people that sometimes hates things just because everyone else likes them and won't shut up about them.  It was true for the movie Juno, but I've tried to resist when it comes to Michael Phelps.

IWhat annoys me the most about him is that, he's famous for winning a crap load of medals.  But guess what, swimming is one of the only events where it's evern POSSIBLE to win a crap load of medals.  Basketball (which arguably requires more finesse and a broader range of athletic competnecy) has ONE medal.  Shot put?  ONE medal.  Michael Phelps is good at one thing (he's worked hard, I'm sure, and I don't mean to trivialize that), but he gets a zillion medals for doing that SAME thing over and over with slight variations.  And that annoys me.

It's also annoying that he gets to eat as many calories as I eat in a week for breakfast and still be totally cut.

He's really good, but just I'm just not that interested in swimming. There's a reason why people only care about it in the Olympics.
