This little mouse beats all the rest!

When you see EcoMama reviewing some technology, it's got to be good! This is not something I usually do. Over the years I have tried so many mice - wireless, wired, blue, black, and white, scroll wheel, back button, etc. All those I have tried were just ok. They did the job and I could not complain [most of the time]. But a short while ago along came a mouse that swept me off my feet and I had to share with you just how in love I am!

So you think a mouse is a mouse? What can be so great about it? Wrong! This isn't your typical mouse. I have found it perfect in every way. The size, the shape, the scroll wheel, the sound, the speed, the precision - it's just perfect anyway I look at it. It is designed to be used with a laptop, but don't let that fool you. In fact, we like it so much that we bought the same one for our desktop computer.

Have you ever been annoyed by the clicking of a mouse? I know I have. If it was up to me I would have all keyboards and mice silent! This little mouse is so quiet that even sitting next to me you would not know I was clicking. Now this gets a little tricky because when my husband went to the store to buy it not all of the Microsoft Mobile 4000 mice sounded the same. Some were a little bit louder than others. So you just kind of have to click your way around what is in stock. We use the quieter one for the desktop (the baby sleeps near where I use it) and the slightly louder one for the laptop. Regardless, even the 'loud' one is way quieter than any mouse I have ever used. It seems like a great mouse to use with any program, like Photoshop and AutoCAD for example. It has many great features and these are my favorites:

  • Tiny receiver that sticks out just 1/4" from the laptop
  • On/off switch (i.e. battery will not drain if you forget to put the receiver inside the mouse)
  • Ergonomic design, very easy on the hand
  • Works great on virtually any surface
  • Comes in many fun colors
  • Is fast and precise
  • Has a back button and four way scroll wheel
  • Requires just one easily replaceable AA battery

We paid just about $30 for each one of these at Best Buy. The retail is $39, but I don't think I have seen a price that high anywhere. Once you try it you'll see why it is a small price to pay for a mouse like this and you will wonder how you ever used other mice. Also, don't let the small size fool you either. I have a small hand and I find it very comfortable, but so does my husband with his large hands. It is a one-size-fits-all in my opinion. Try it, you will not regret it!

The best mouse out of about 15 mice I have ever used! Money well spent.
