Moon Landing is the name of the fourteenth episode of the series Modern Family' season 1. It premiered on American Broadcasting Company. In the episode, Claire (Julie Bowen) feels slightly inadequate when her old friend, Valerie (guest star Minnie Driver), visits and is nothing like Claire remembered. Meanwhile Jay (Ed O'Neill) has an unsettling locker room moment when he and Cameron (Eric Stonestreet) go play racquetball, and Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) tries to help Gloria (Sofía Vergara) with some legal problems.
The episode was written by Bill Wruber and directed by Jason Winer. The episode aired in the United States on February 3, 2010 on ABC and achieved a Nielsen Rating of 3.9/10, attracting 9.07 million viewers. The episode received positive reviews from critics.
