Been there, done that...

If you can make it there you can make it anywhere...well, that's what they say...sadly I don't agree. I enjoy NYC. I can visit NYC. But don't make me live there again! Maybe I am just not a fan of congestion, heat or cold. Maybe the clang of the city, the vapid people on the streets and the conceited notion that as a city they are better than or set a standard for the rest of the world.

Maybe I am over NYC because I grew up in NYC. While I am glad the City has soooo much to offer I find it rather hard to really connect and build a full life in the city like when one lives in Chicago or San Francisco even. Its not a real city! That's it! It's a surreal city. Its what we expect a city to be...but on crack. I mean that is why so many shows in the last year or so have popped up in NYC. Its because reality there is less real than any where else!

So,  I say visit for a bit, summer there maybe...ok ok try living there...but don't say I didn't warn you.

Who doesn't love NYC?  Who wouldn't?  This city is world-class, and an experience like no other.  Walking around NYC alone is utterly enjoyable.  Taking a leisurely stroll through Central Park on a summer day is heavenly.  The buildings are huge, the people are crazy, and the whole place is just bustling and alive, no matter what time of day or night.  There's so many different cultures present, you could get a tour of the world practically in one city. It's amazing.  …

Pros: Lots to do; Many places to eat     Cons: Expensive, Certain areas are unsafe     I was born and raised on Long Island, about thirty miles outside of Manhattan. I really enjoy going into the city! Sometimes I go in with family, other times with friends, and I even go by myself.      My favorite place, of course, is Broadway. I go to the TKTS booth (you can read my review for info), snag some discounted tickets, head to a show, then …
