Nick Nack - a henchman - what were they thinking

The Bond films left all seriousness behind and turned to pure comedy with The Man With The Golden Gun.  Having Christoper Lee as the villain could have been one of the best decisions made for a Bond film.  But then the film itself turns to pure comedy with the return of the Southern Sheriff from Live and Let Die, Goodnight as the Bond girl, and then Nick Nack as the henchman.   I remember his first appearance on the beach with his Bonjour Mr. Bond, and the audience broke out into laughter.   Its sad to see Bond fall to this level.  A comedic small person bringing menace to the man with the license to kill.  Its just not funny.

Proof that the little guy can still do some good, or bad in Nick Nacks case. One of the better things about Man with the Golden Gun but even he isn't great enough to elevate that golden turd.
