Air Max 90 was known as Air Max III when it initially dropped. Comfortable and sleek this shoe has gained more popularity in the US after all the retroes, but has always been a hit in Europe. It comes in a wide variety of colors and tons of people have customized pairs. The most distinguishable part is the large visible air bubble in the back. The picture above is the infrared colorway.

Pretty nice shoe, although I think I'll always be partial to the first Air Max, which is a bit more subtle and low-profile. I'm glad you mention the visible air pack. I remember Tinker Hatfield talking about bowing to a little pressure from the Nike marketing department in making very visible this innovative technology but eventually realizing it was the right decision. A utilitarian design features turned into stylistic element is a pretty awesome detail, and maybe the real legacy of the Air Max.
