LYD Recommendation: You'll fly for the mile-high PIE!! Get your Norma's order to-go and bring a whole pie home for $12.99!

The Oak Cliff section of Dallas definitely has a reputation for comfort food, and LYD heard through the grapevine that Norma's on Davis Street had great pie and so we decided to put on our stretchiest pants and take the "mile-high pie" challenge! As you as you walk into Norma's, you get taken straight back to 1956, Norma's flagship year. From the black and white Dallas-themes pictures to the squeaky red-cushioned booths, to the butter-dripping, fluffy, fresh rolls-- Norma's loyal group of patrons swear that all of her treats and dinners are still made from scratch and with giant a heaping of love, just like the day it opened! LYD arrived at Norma's with an agenda and our eyes glazed on PIE! The assortment of sweet, soft, and decadent desserts include "mile-high pies", cobblers, cakes, and cheesecakes. You'll want to begin chowing down immediately on these incredible pie creations which reach straight to the heavens by way of a mountain of meringue piled ever so delicately on top. The cakes here are moist, tasty, delicious, delectable and irresistible too. Norma's is not shy about feeding their customers tantalizing desserts either! Be prepared to be served a monstrous-sized piece of moist cake filled with creme and sweet icing in between each ever-satisfying layer. If you're smart, you'll take Norma's advice and have your dessert first because life is short!
Then after jam-packing your stomachs with some of the finer things in life like peanut butter-chocolate meringue, raspberry explosion cake, coconut creme pie, blackberry cobbler, lemon meringue pie, chocolate eruption cake, and banana pudding, you can gorge yourself with juicy burgers, serious chicken fried steak, chicken fried chicken, or all-day diner breakfast. Everything here tastes just like someone slaved all day in the kitchen, and if you don't have the culinary talent, the will, or the time, then let Norma take you away to her home-cooked goodness! Let yourself go and come back to your favorites you've been depriving yourself because of the calories for the last few years! Gobble down on an Open-Faced Roast Beef Sandwich, Chicken Fingers, a Mushroom Swiss Burger, a Grilled Cheese, or even a Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwich. It might be the perfect pick-me-up you need from a hard week's work! On top of their highly-rated food and desserts, at Norma's you will be treated just like one of the family; the staff is very accommodating, truly believes in their food, and wishes to make sure that if you have to leave Norma's, that you leave full! If that's not enough to convince you to try this Dallas homegrown and locally supported joint, then take it from the waitress herself, "It's so good it'll make you wanna go home and slap yo' mama!"

Thank you so much for choosing Norma's Cafe to write a review on. I do have one comment though. At the end of the article, it states 'other locations.' Then it lists a Beltline address. Norma's Cafe has two locations. The Davis one, which is mentioned, and a location on the Tollway. The address is 17721 N. Dallas Pkwy #130 Dallas, TX 75287. There is a restaurant on Beltline called Norma's Cafe, but it is not associated with the Davis or the Tollway locations. I'd appreciate it if you could change this. Thank you.
