While not my top favorite Bond villain Oddjob is probably the best known Bond villains. Few villains in the Bond films strike such an iconic image as Oddjob with deadly top hat. Harold Sakata without uttering one word created such a strong fascinating character that its difficult not put him at the top of the Bond villains list. My ultimate favorite villain is Rosa Klebb in From Russia With Love. Thats probably because I feel its a much stronger film. But as a kid watching the Bond films on a Saturday afternoon at my local theater few other villains were as memorable as Oddjob. When compared to some of the later more comedic villains Oddjob stands out as a more realistic deadly villain.
I consider Oddjob superior to Jaws as a Bond foe and supporting villain. No one that has ever seen the movie can forget his hat. After watching the movie my friends and I found hats and we threw them at each other in playing. It was a lot more fun that the traditional cowboys and Indians or war that we had played earlier. If you hit someone with your hat there was no "I got you, no you didn't dispute." Of course, our hats were not as aerodynamically stable as Oddjob's.
The best villain is the one that you either want to see win in the movies or the ones you can't stand and WANT to see lose. Oddjob falls in the latter. Oddjob is the firercly loyal, strong as a bull and silent servant to Auric Goldfinger. He'll be your caddy and cheat at golf for you, lead your men into battle and even use the metal rim in his hat like a killer frisbee to kill targets, drive your car and even, yes to make sure a plan goes off without … more
One of the best of the Bond bad guys. I actually personally met him 15 years later as a teenager living in Miami8 Beach. He was a condo neighbor of a friend of mine. Really nice, still strong as an ox.

Oddjob is a henchman to the villain Auric Goldfinger in the film and novel. In the film he was played by the Hawaiian actor Harold Sakata.
Oddjob (along with Jaws) is the strongest character in the Bond series. He is superior in unarmed combat skills to Bond in both film and novel, and therefore must be killed by application of superior cunning (by uncontrolled decompression in the book and electrocution in the film).
The character of Oddjob, from his unusual appearance, manners, strength and method of killing, forms the archetype for many privileged senior henchmen of the Bond film series, including Tee Hee, Jaws, Gobinda, Stamper, and Zao.
