Good Place To Start

Yes, most pros will say that these lenses are a bad idea, but I disagree when it comes to finding a way to take great pictures with a fun technique.

When you were learning to ride a bike, did your parents go out and buy the most expensive bike at Toys R US? I sure hope not.

This is a great lens to learn fisheye techniques. When you have the techniques down, you'll begin to naturally notice the difference in the pictures it can take, and those of a more pro fisheye lens.

In my opinion, its not a bad lens for the non-pro and it can be a lot of fun too!

You're making me contemplate the days I had an SLR, it was an old 35mm Nikon N65. I always wanted a fisheye lens! Well, if I ever get a Canon SLR I'll have to get one of these, I am not a pro by any means. @emmapersky agrees with you that the Canon 40D is an all around great deal! Thanks for the fisheye review!

fisheye lens
I was searching for an affordable fisheye lens and found this "bargain." As expected this cheap lens was really not recommended by the photography community. However, I didn't want to spend another $300 on a lens that I wasn't even sure I was going to use.  Despite the warnings, I went ahead got this lens for less than $40 and I was happy with it.
