Let me lead off by saying that anyone that wants to dump on your computer (or anything else) is due to be told exactly where they can go unless they are willing to BUY you the one they want ye to have. If not? STFU.
Now, that being said - I prefer Macs as there is little problem with viruses, trojans, hacking, etc. I even know a guy whose son works for Microsoft and they have a whole division that works on Macs. Not for comparisons sake but just because they aren't as problematic as PC's.
The way I heard the difference between the two described is: PC's start off with bare bones stuff and can be upgraded easily (and often). Macs start off with top of the line stuff and ye can't upgrade anything but the damned RAM.
Also, being old; I really really hate it when a machine questions me. "Are you sure?" Hey, I'm the human, you're the machine. As far as you're concerned, I'm God.
This is another reason I like Macs. I can throw the damned Hard Drive in the trash if I want to. PC's have the audacity to tell me (the person who PAID for it) that "You do not have permission to.." Say what? To hell you preach! I can do any damned thing I want!
Sorry, old man tangent. Again, long story short - PC's are more prone to bugs and whatnot but are a damned sight cheaper than a Mac (but the Mac is not going to have ye sittin' up nights with the Geek Squad). If someone else is buying it, whatever they buy is the best damned computer ye've ever seen.
