Really hard to beat in terms of value for the money...

I received the Photo Basics 402 uLite Video Lighting Kit from the Amazon Vine review program, and I thought this might be a great way to get started and experiment with green screen video work. And it performs just as advertised. The hardware is sturdy and solid... far better than I expected given the seemingly "beginner" audience it targets. Even if I decided not to do as much green screen work, the lighting fixtures would be excellent for straight photography. The green fabric background is huge, so you're not limited to a tiny area of movement (or no motion whatsoever). Assuming you already have your video camera (as that's not part of the kit), you're ready to go.

The instructional DVD is perfect for the beginner... easy to follow and gets you off to a quick start. The editing software is a 30 day trial, so figure on having to put out a bit of money if you happened to like what it had to offer. But at least you have something to get started with, and it works.

Overall, I found this combination hard to beat. I'm happy with what I've been able to do so far with it, and I look forward to branching out even further as time goes on. I may even get to the point of doing some YouTube instructional videos that don't look like I'm in my basement (which in fact is where I am)... :)

While the quality of this hardware isn't studio-like, …
