I've been looking for a place to load photos where 1) it was FREE 2) it wouldn't shrink the picture to some ridiculous size and 3) others could download the picture at the original size.

My friends and I use to post pictures of Facebook and then steal them from each other..however ...I got annoyed of this after a while because the quality of picture you save is absolute crap. It's ok to print if it's a picture of people and you're printing a 4x6 or smaller... but otherwise it just doesn't cut it. Then I'd have to go and see who posted the picture and ask them to send me the original.

Then I discovered Picasa - upload photos at full size, email friends or "tag" them in photos, friends comments on photos, friends download photos at full size (or even download entire ALBUM at full size!). It just doesn't get better than this!!!

... WRONG! Let me present Picasa the Photo Editing Program. It's a very decent program considering the price of FREE. The one gripe I have with this... the "Sharpen" tool is one of the best I've seen.. however there's a bug in this program that won't let you save any sharpening edits! It's only for viewing.. ack.. everything else works though.. works real well. AND, it gives you the option of "undoing" any edits you've done.. even after you've saved changes! I'm really loving it.

Picasa photo uploading server & Picasa Photo Editing Program... go get em!

I've been looking for a good free photo editing software...I'll have to check it out. Thanks for the review.

Picasa is both an online hosting site and a photo editing program both powered by Google.

Picasa the photo hosting site allows user to upload their photos and full size, and also allows friends of the user to download the photo at the original size.  In addition, users can "tag" other users to notify them them that photos have been posted, and comments can be made on each photo. Each album can also be made private and shared with only those they have chosen to email.

Picasa the photo editing program originally created by Idealab.  Users who sign up for Picasa can download this program to their desktop and use it as a photo editing and viewing program.  Users can upload photos directly to albums on the internet after they have edited and saved them through this program.
