The book, Prey, by Lurlene McDaniel was written to show teenagers what happens when they get involved with a teacher. It is a story about a sexual predator who lures a student into falling for her by making reasons for them to be alone together. She dresses and acts inappropriately which leaves the mind of a high school student boy to wander.Even the girl students had taken notice of her and became jealous of her. Lurlene McDaniel usually writes stories about death, which makes this one different than all of the others. She still does touch on real life subjects, which I love. She always brings a life lesson through her writing to teach her teenage audience about hardships. This particular story shows how much someone can ruin their life by going after the wrong person. It shows what lust can do and how someone may confuse love with lust. A person can lose so much from making the wrong decisions. I would recommend this book to those who are Lurlene McDaniel fans because it shows a new side of her writing. I would not recommend this be the first Lurlene McDaniel story or the only one that you read.
