Snort, sniff, cough, swallow, snort, sniff, cough, swallow, pretty disgusting huh? Then, you let the mucus slide down the back of your throat, this can cause some people that hear this sinus clearing noise, cringe with every snort and sniff that they hear. Especially my wife, even though she is a RN, the sound of this in the morning will simply gross her out. That is why we had to find something to alleviate this annoying noise. You can find this at just about anywhere that sells medicine, but we got ours from CVS pharmacy for 16 dollars and that includes taxes.

This box of cough silencers and expectorant pill, come with 40 twin colored pills. One of the sides of this pill is yellow and the other white. The white layer is for immediate release of medicine and the yellow layer is for the timed release of the medicine. These will work in a twelve hour time released fashioned. You will receive inside of the box, four smaller plastic holders that will house each one of the pills separately, to prevent anyone from tampering. You will not have to scratch and claw to get these open, a simple bush on the pill and it will come popping out of its plastic house. Each of these pills is 5/8” x ½” in size, and come in 30 mg doses.

There are only a couple of Active ingredients that make up this pill, and they are 30mg of Dextromethorphan HBr, to help with suppressing your cough, and 600mg of Guaifenesin to help with expectorant.

The inactive ingredients are carbomer 934P, NF; D&C Yellow #10 aluminum lake; hypromellose, USP; magnesium stearate, NF; sodium starch glycolate, NF

My wife and I have a terrible time when the weather changes with the sinus problems that we have. When this happens we simply just take one of these little pills once every twelve hours and we can keep the disgusting mucus family at bay. It will usually start out with a little nagging cough and as each day goes on it will get a little worse. But, when we finally decide to start we do notice a definite difference in a matter of twenty to thirty minutes, depending on how bad our cough is.

The results may differ for each person, because if they let this get out of hand for a couple of weeks, and then start to take these pills, you may have to take a double dose just like the doctors tell you to do whenever you start a new prescription. This double dose usually works for me, but it may not work for other people.

These little pills of relief are supposed to loosen phlegm (mucus) and any of that disgusting stuff that may be sitting inside of your lungs. This is supposed to open up your airways to allow you to breathe easier. This is only a temporary relief of coughs and sore throats that you may get. I also take this whenever the weather looks like it is going to change for the worse so I can stop anything from starting. If you need help sleeping, these will help quiet that nasty cough so that you can get some well needed sleep.

If you have any children under the age of twelve then I would highly recommend the children’s Mucinex. Plus if you have a chronic cough caused from smoking, asthma, bronchitis, or emphysema, this pill will not do you any good. Even though my cough comes back, I still refuse to see a doctor because they usually tell me to take this stuff anyway.

This has worked very well for my wife and I, and it has help us stay working at our jobs without having to be under the weather or stuck in bed. They do sell other types of Mucinex; regular Mucinex is good for chest congestion and thinning and loosening mucus, Mucinex DM of course the product that I have just reviewed, and Micinex D will clear nasal and sinus congestion. All of these products will work for twelve hours at a time.

I can highly recommend this pill, because this worked very well for us. This does not mean that it will work for everyone. If you have a persistent and if you do not start to get relief within 24 hours then I would seek medical help. You may need a stronger steroid or something in that line. As for this stuff it has become a fixture on our nightstand and in our medicine cabinet. Five stars for this medicine.
