"I have not written any pizza reviews in a long time but I have a good one for you. We all know that there are certain foods that we say it taste better the next day.
You know the flavors the spices, the ingredients just seem to blend so that the flavor just becomes so much better. Well this is not something that is generally said about pizza. Pizza is generally at its best fresh and hot out of the oven.
The other night a group of friends went to the Recovery Room in New London for dinner. Cora ordered the Italian sausage and broccoli rabbe pizza special. Sampled as it was hot out of the oven and delivered to our table it was delicious. However, as we enjoyed the other entrees, which by the way were all equally delicious, we and she were all full so half the pie was leftover. We had it boxed up and brought it home.
Now to the point of this review. This evening I preheated the oven to 500 degrees and re-heated the left over pizza for dinner. In a matter of minutes yesterday's pizza was ready to eat and let me tell you it was every bit as good as the day before, maybe even better! The flavors of the sausage and broccoli rabbe, and tomato blended wonderfully.
The crust along the outside of the pie was crispy as was the crust on the bottom. This pizza was out of this world good. Nice to find this exception to the fresh out of the oven pizza rule. If you go to the The Recovery Room you will enjoy the food and if the portions are such that there will be leftovers be assured they will tantalize your taste buds when re-heated.
I would have sent a picture but I was hungry and couldn't wait to get the camera before scarfing the pizza!"
