The trouble with Ringworld is that it is too well known to be as mind blowing as it was in 1970. But you never know. Maybe there are high school kids that never heard of it. A ring with a diameter of 180,000,000 miles. I don't believe for a second that it can be made but it IS so cool.

I think the late 80s or so was the last time I read Ringworld. I remember Ringworld Engineers too. My favorite character was the Hindmost. :)

A great exploration of an alien artifact that is sometime hindered by shallow character development. Still, the story as a whole is amazing and the ideas are original.
