White or Yellow...It's all the same. Annoying!

I have fond memories of snow. I grew up in Ohio, and probably one of the most exciting things ever to happen to my 8-year-old self was having a snow day, or a two-hour delay even. Usually when my younger brother and I played in the snow it would be for, like, two minutes. Then we'd come inside for a bit, only to later venture out yet again for another two minutes.

Then I moved to Indiana to go to college, and there wasn't as much snow. It was still annoying when I lived off-campus and had to scrape the windshield every morning before getting to class.

Snow: It's pretty.  Kids love it.  Dogs love it. (My dog loves eating it and making it yellow especially.)

HOWEVER. Then I moved to Chicago, and my peaceful coexistence with snow stopped. When you're a public transit-taker like me, and you live a half-mile from the departure train stop, and you work another half of a mile from the arrival train stop, it ends up getting old. That's TWO MILES trudging through snow per day, almost falling on your ass multiple times (if you're clumsy like me).

Don't even get me started on the slush pools (a.k.a. oceans) on every sidewalk downtown today.

Wet feet at work all day is super fun, lemme tell you.

I saw snow where I lived for the FIRST time this past year (it was like..barely snow too...) and I was soooo excited that I could just walk outside and there was snow. However I think I only like snow when I go snowboarding...I dont think I can handle braving that everyday just to get to work.... I can barely handle rain haha.

Year round I wait for it & then it comes & then I very quickly tire of shoveling it for hours. Still, I love winter & each damn snowflake!!!

About this topic

Snow is a type of precipitation within the Earth's Atmosphere in the form of crystalline water ice, consisting of a multitude of snowflakes that fall from clouds. Since snow is composed of small ice particles, it is a granular material. It has an open and therefore soft structure, unless packed by external pressure. Snowflakes come in a variety of sizes and shapes. Types which fall in the form of a ball due to melting and refreezing, rather than a flake, are known as graupel, with ice pellets and snow grains as examples of graupel. Snowfall amount and its related liquid equivalent precipitation amount are determined using a variety of different rain gauges.
