Soccer, the best of the Sports

Soccer is a get into game. You use every piece of your body. Your chest. Your legs. And if you are a goalie, your hands.
Soccer pushes you to the limit. When you see that ball going down the field, you run as fast as you can to get to it. The oppisite team, which there are a lot of, come at it at the same time. You may colide and fight for the ball or you may get to it or they may get to it first. Soccer is also a team sport. You need to learn to work together in order to get that goal.
Soccer is the best sport in this world. Most of the countries on Earth play soccer. No matter if you are a beginner or a pro at it, it still fun. Defending your goal, or making a goal, you can't seem to lose that fun that clings to you and will not let you go. It takes over your mind and shows you a whole new world. A world in it's eyes. A world of fun.
Try soccer, even if you never win a game. You will see how fun it really is.

Just try it. ^_^

I was always a terrible player whenever I tried out the game, but as a spectator I love, love, love the game. It truly is The Beautiful Game. One of its charms for me is that players do not need to be huge in stature in order to be outstanding. Lionel Messi is quite a tiny little guy, but he's an absolute genius on the pitch. Many denouncers of the game will cite the lack of goals or high scores. I think the fact that it's not a game that's all about statistics, and the fact that even a 0-0 game at the 89 minute mark can suddenly and dramatically be turned into a thrilling 1-0 victory with just one sublime moment of skill from an individual, are part of its huge charm. I believes this adds to the tension and drama of the sport.

I'm so glad that you reviewed this because being on the soccer team was the crowning glory of my elementary and middle school years!  Your review makes me wanna pick it up again.  My only physical discipline besides going to the gym nowadays is Hatha Yoga!

I agree that it is a great game...and as a parent, I think it is the best game for little kids. Unlike t-ball which involves a lot of standing around soccer keeps kids moving the whole time. Additionally, there are minimal occurrences of individual success or failure so all players can feel successful and positive. As a spectator, i much prefer basketball or football however.

The most common things I hear when I am talking to a non Soccer lover or just a plain Soccer hater is that the game is boring, there's not enough goals and that there are to many "questionable" calls in the game.  As a person with a passion for the sport and feels that it is one of the greatest sports ever I can respond to those remarks with answers such as, "You don't understand the game." or "At least the ref doesn't blow the whistle every 5 seconds like Basketball."  …

My wife loves soccer. She has played from a very young age and was even offered a collegiate scholarship to play. Personally, I've never been a huge fan, but I'm growing to like it a bit.

I just love to watch a ball get kicked around for 90 minutes and end up in a 1-1 ties. Very exciting.... NOT

About this topic

Wiki

Association football, more commonly known as football or soccer, is a team sport played between two teams of eleven players, and is widely considered to be the most popular sport in the world. It is a football variant played on a rectangular grass or artificial turf field, with a goal in the centre of each of the short ends. The object of the game is to score by maneuvring the ball into the opposing goal. In general play, the goalkeepers are the only players allowed to use their hands or arms to propel the ball; the rest of the team usually use their feet to kick the ball into position, occasionally using their torso or head to intercept a ball in midair. The team that scores the most goals by the end of the match wins. If the score is tied at the end of the game, either a draw is declared or the game goes into extra time and/or a penalty shootout, depending on the format of the competition.

The modern game was codified in England following the formation of The Football Association, whose 1863 Laws of the Game created the foundations for the way the sport is played today. Football is governed internationally by the Fédération Internationale de Football Association (International Federation of Association Football), commonly known by the acronym FIFA. The most prestigious international football competition is the FIFA World Cup, held every four years. This event, the most widely viewed in the world, boasts an audience twice that of the Summer Olympic Games.
