Not Crushworthy

Stila is one of those brands that I always browse but never buy anything from. I received this lip & cheek stain as a gift and it reminds me why I never shell out the bucks for Stila- it's just never quite the right look for me.
Stila Mango Crush is a frosted lip & cheek stain in a peachy/coral color. Frosted. I really wasn't expecting that from a stain. It feels pretty nice on my lips & didn't dry them out like other lip stains I've used. The color is pretty, but personally it matches my lip color too closely to be worth the money. It can be pretty tricky to apply, also. Sometimes the twist-tube applicator takes several "clicks" before any product makes its way up the brush, other times it comes out right away. The brush is way too thin to be effective for cheek application, but the product dries too quickly to use your fingers. The color is similar to MAC's Fun & Games Beauty Powder, but is far more sheer. It takes quite a bit of product to get any kind of color.

Pretty color
Feels light & natural
Nice frost without looking too "Barbie"

Twist-tube sucks
Brush makes it hard to apply
Only works with some skintones
Pricey for the amount of product

Overall, this product just doesn't work for me and had I spent the $20 to buy it, I would be highly disappointed. Since it was a gift, I use it on my lips when I'm going more heavy on the eye makeup so my lips aren't bare but don't overpower my face either. I've seen pictures of ladies with darker skin tones using it on their cheeks and it looks awesome. I think it would probably be nice on someone with a more yellow undertone as well. For those of us with olive or pink tones, it's just not going to pack enough punch.

That's disappointing to hear.  I agree with you, twist tubes with a brush suck!  Well, if you're looking for a cheek stain, you should check out Benetint, it's pretty neat.  Thanks for sharing, Lia! :)
