Here is the recipe/information for the Acrobat:

THE ACROBAT

A bubbly cocktail in a Highball Glass

Ingredients:

2 oz Whisky (I suggest Bourbon)
1 oz Cointreau
1 oz  Lime Juice
Ice Cubes
Cider
Lime Wedge

Instructions:

Stir all ingredients except for cider into a highball glass filled with ice.  Fill the glass the rest of the way with cider and garnish with a lime wedge.

Review Notes:

I love this cocktail, not so much for itself, but more for how I can modify the recipe and make a plethora of new bubbly drinks.  I replace the regular cider with a flavoured cider and a new cocktail is instanly born.  Ginger ale, Orange and Mango Soda, Champaign, and 7 Up all give the cocktail a different life.

Or I use Scotch instead of the suggested Bourbon,  Gand Marnier or Orange Curacoa instead of the Cointreau.  The list of modifications is endless.

Bubbly cocktails are always favourites at gatherings and being able to serve a wide variety of  drinks with just a few simple modifications makes the Acrobat one of my favourites for this purpose.

Here is a link to my website where I review a quality Scotch Whisky, and then use the Acrobat to build a brand new Cocktail just for that Whisky.

Tasty the lime juice keeps it fresh, and a Rye would work as well.
