He's more beast than man, but I loved him anyway!

This book is called Taming The Beast, by Heather Grothaus. It has 352 pages and costs $6.99. This is the first book that I have read by this particular author and I must admit her work is worth noting. The title sounds almost morbid all in itself.

This story begins on May 1103, in Tornfield Manor, England. Michaela Fortune, has spent the better part of her life ridiculed and laughed at by society, due to her growing poverty and an old legend. After her unexpected rejection of marriage from Lord Tornfield, she decides to take a more drastic approach at her life by accepting an invitation to Cherbon Castle, knowing that the new lord was seeking a wife. She was determined to be the only one left to marry the man as she risked her own sanity and her heart in the process…
Roderick Cherbon had just returned from a pilgrimage to the Holy Lands, a scarred man inside and out. Being the rightful heir to his estate and all the lands therein, he discovered none to happily that he was unable to receive his lands until he found a wife. Desperately, he invited all single women who would volunteer to step forth. Until, the girl with the strangely colored hair walked into his domain. He was mostly in awe that a woman of her beauty would ever want anything to do with the beast of a man that he was.
She invites him to open up to her and this somehow changes him for the better. Then Michaela’s rumored legend, in the name of Justice, unexpectedly comes back to haunt them, in an attempt to tear them from their only happiness…which was being with one another.
This story was breathtaking. I loved the balance that ‘Rick’ and his friend Hugh added to the whole. Not to mention, despite the over exaggerated speech, I was very much captivated by the lord’s demanding, yet gentle dialogue. Bravo!
