Poor customer serivce - lousy exchange policy

This company has the worst return/exchange policy of any children's store I know. Their policy states items must have "tags attached" in order to return or exchange them. I can understand that policy for a return, but an exchange is another matter all together. Here's what happened. I purchased a pair of pants for my son for Xmas. Sometime after receiving the gift, and unbeknownst to me, my son went to try on the pants and removed the tags. He then came to me and said the pants were too small. Knowing the exchange/return policy, I thought surely they would understand this situation. He's a child. Please. Anyway, I went to the store with pants, tags, and original purchase receipt. They would not exchange the pants. I didn't want my money back. I simply wanted my son to have his Xmas gift - and one that fit. They would not exchange the pants. "Company policy". Everyone should know how little this company cares about customer service. DO NOT SHOP AT THIS STORE.

Wow! That seems a little extreme to me as well. You had the tags and the receipt, how else would you have them if you didn't get it at that store? Thanks for sharing this with us :)

We're big fans of the Children's Place, especially for wardrobe staples and basics. Frequent sales, very good quality on most all items, good mix of trends and basics, and good online shopping interface. A step up from Target, definitely better quality than Old Navy, but not as pricey as Kids Gap or the like.

http://retailmenot.com/ is pretty much always good for a coupon code that totally changes one's on-line order here. Wish they'd figure out shipping to Canada, though...
