My book of 2010

Rating:
+4
I worked in publishing for two and a half years and there are only the smallest handful of books that I can say were genuinely amazing. This is absolutely one of them. Andy Mulligan is a genius. He's taken a world totally alien to us and presented it through the eyes of children who can only conceive of that world. It's an important book that has the distinction of being a rollicking adventure story for kids.

Three dumpsite kids in a country unnamed, but possibly the Phillipines, find something they shouldn't have while they pick through the rubbish. This unlocks a treasure hunt that puts them in incredible danger but with the slightest glimpse of the possibility of another life.

The book is my favourite so far in 2010 - and I read a LOT of books.

Nice quick review. Sounds like an interesting read too. I will probably check this out in the near future. :)
