A Quick Tip by woopak_the_thrill

I saw this recently when I was given the dvd combo pack (with the original Troll) for Christmas (obviously my friend does not like me very much) and I was flabbergasted how this movie ever got made. I heard that this movie was made with a shoestring budget--bad effects, bad make up, insidiously bad direction and acting!

yet, I am amazed that I saw this twice within the past 72 hours--it is soo bad that it is funny and for some reason, I cannot take my eyes off the lousy bad acting. It is so funny--I mean a baloney sandwich saves the day?!  One needs to see this to know the definition of a bad movie.  [1/2 out of 5 Stars]

This film evidences the Plan 9/Manos/Room/Birdemic syndrome: it's so phenomenally, engagingly awful that it's a wonderful target of compulsive viewing. Besides, it features the most enjoyable bad line reading since Ryan O'Neal's star turn in Tough Guys Don't Dance.

I have not seen this myself (or part one, for that matter), but I have heard all the negative buzz surrounding it. Isn't it odd how bad publicity has actually increased it's popularity? Like Plan 9 from Outer Space, it seems people are now embracing this film for how awful it is. The image you provided is proof -- take another look at the tagline just under the credits.

15 - 95mins - Fantasy/Horror - 12th October 1990      WOW. Where to begin with this one. This is without a doubt the worst movie I have ever seen in my entire life bar none and I've seen a lot of crap. Let me just set the scene before I even move onto the, ahem, 'plot'. This review has spoilers in it but unlike most films, knowing what happens won't affect your enjoyment of it.      Troll 2 ahh the sequel to Troll 1 I hear you say? Nope, of …

About this topic

Troll 2 is a 1990 horror film, directed by Claudio Fragasso, under the pseudonym Drake Floyd. During production, the film was known as Goblins,[1] and some foreign releases of the film were labeled as such, but upon release in the United States, the title was changed to Troll 2 in an attempt to help sell the film by connecting it to an established horror film, the 1986 Empire Pictures film Troll.[2] The two films, however, have no connection apart from the title. Despite the title, no trolls are depicted in Troll 2.

The plot concerns an American family, the Waits family, who are taking a trip to the country to visit a small town called "Nilbog" (goblin spelled backwards), but are plunged into a nightmare as they are relentlessly pursued by vegetarian goblins, who turn people into plants before they eat them.

The cast includes Michael Stephenson, George Hardy, Margo Prey, Connie Young (here credited with her maiden name, Connie McFarland), Deborah Reed, and Jason Wright.
