Mock away...my feet are too happy to care!

I hate cold feet. I hate achy feet even more. I never really understood the saying "beauty is pain" either. For these reasons and many more, I love my Uggs. They keep your feet toasty warm and would never inflict their wearers with any kind of foot pain. Unless maybe you got them in the wrong size. They are like those cushy house slippers I used to wear in college - the ones with cute animal heads attached (go ahead and mock those too if you must). I could walk around for days in my Uggs and go dancing all night, if I had any rhythm. They're awesome!
Uggs are known to be popular with surfers as a way to keep their feet warm and comfy out of the water. Perfect since I live two miles from the beach and have been known to indulge in beachy strolls on many a cold So Cal morning. Before you call out the fashion militia...For the record, I do NOT go walking around in my Uggs with a tank top and miniskirt.
Seriously? I know they're unattractive. I mean, really. Who doesn't? But so what? There are SO many other fashion statements out there that make Uggs seem like the hottest trend to walk off the runways at Fashion Week. And I doubt any of those are more comfortable to walk around in.

I've been thinking of getting a pair of Uggs, but I've heard they're not completely waterproof. Living in Chicago, I can't afford to invest $200 in a pair of winter boots that aren't completely watertight. Do you happen to know what the deal is with that?

If you're looking for a completely waterproof boot, Uggs are not it. I think there's some kind of waterproofing protectant you can spray on them but in general they are not water tight. If I come across any good waterproof boots, I'll be sure to let you know.

Super comfortable and warm boots. Perfect for cold winter days but not great for slushie snow days(wet snow will destroy the suede outside)

About this topic

Wiki

Uggs are a style of unisex sheepskin boot, with wool as the inner lining and a tanned outer surface. Ugg boots often have a synthetic sole and the natural properties of sheepskin results in thermostatic benefits. Thick fleecy fibres on the inner part of the boots allow air to circulate and keep the feet at body temperature.
