Dissappointing

As much as I wanted to like this CD, I just find it to be a middle of the road effort. There are way too many experimental pieces that long outstay their welcome. Experimenting with new sounds is all good and fine. However, a good song needs a memeorable melody and on Under The Radar the melodies are just not very captivating.

The creativity is still there as these guys and lady are very talented. However, if I were to advise the band what to do next, I would say include a few more focused rock n roll numbers that possibly stay under the five minute mark. There are some good songs on here such as the bluesy I Got Happiness, the dynamic Locomotives, the acoustic gem A Distant Thunder, and The Blues Don't Tell It All. Here's hoping that Little Feat can make some improvements on this OK but nothing special batch of tunes.
