A country in North America.

Give me liberty & ... Credibility!

AMERICA is a true wonderland...

A land of wonders (the Grand Canyon, Yellowstone, the Rockies...) & miracles (Disney World, Hollywood, NASA, WWW...). A land where all dreams come true. It's a dreamer's & surfer's paradise >>> online & Hawaiian-style!

Freedom, liberty & opportunities epitomize the American Way. My impression of U.S.A. originated from TV, movies & books long before I learnt how to read & write. Mickey is a magical word to kids of all ages and countries. Disneyworld is an adult's childhood refreshed, revisited & replayed with finesse. What's an imagination with an outlet for expression in full blast? >>> Hollywood!

That's my image of the Americans. So unique, rare & precious; the ability to manifest dreams enables the internet to sprout and change humanity (at least in my opinion). So we all have the Americans to thank for. Keep it up guys! The world wish you luck!

To set foot on U.S. is many Asians' hope for a better future. But to set foot on the moon is every man's & woman's hope!

Boeing & Aerospace
The Wright Brothers manifested the beginning of a journey… the ability to fly and the generations after them brought it to new heights. Men are now able to go to the moon, even for tourists! Who knows what the new decade will bring? Perhaps another planet or more realistically, cars that will fly. Well, Detroit needs to be more innovative and after the failure of 2008, I’d say it’s time for cars to fly, don’t you? ;-)
If President Obama is to be different, he should consider getting Boeing & Detroit car manufacturers together, I’d say. What say you, Americans? Afterall, China is already having bullet trains! It’s time to think out of the box!

Hollywood & NYSE
We have lots of Lunchers who are fans of Hollywood here, so I don’t think I need to say more. Hollywood is another world when it comes to creativity and all things possible. The U.S. is best when it comes to this field although I’d say being too creative with financial products is what brought down the whole world's economy but you can’t deny that these whiz kids were good enough to fool the entire world to begin with. Icelanders may have to thank them for it; excessive greed and the thought that the world consists of fools may backfire ultimately although for a few good years, everyone was having the greatest party!

Silicon Valley
Some of the smartest people in the States live and work here. They created and linked an entire world via the internet (although the dotcom booming made that possible by laying down optical cables undersea around the world thereby making it economical for the rest of the world to go online!). Amazon.com emerges while Hallmarks and Kodak are on the way out!

Thanks to the Silicon Valley we are now better connected with the rest of the world, even the most remote parts where we never thought we'll be able to reach.

Las Vegas
Las Vegas is making a city out of sands. A glamorous city filled with dreams and yet it's a city that never sleeps. What a contradiction.

The most incredible entertainment center in the world. Like it or not, this is what draws tourists to the U.S. (especially Asian tourists). In Las Vegas, the spirit of adventure thrives. Be it on a rollercoaster indoor or outdoor, be it putting up a show at the casino or in the theater hall, it is one that is put up to entertain, one that had been successful until some financiers begin to build their dreams in the sky!

Nonetheless, I like Las Vegas and I hope it'll thrive again very soon!

Grand Canyon
To me, the Grand Canyon is one of the many reasons I'm glad I'm alive & I've the gift of vision. It's a place where one's life would never be the same again after witnessing God's creation. It's a nature canvas where the elements are the greatest artists & one where it's forever changing!

Grand Canyon is where you see God!

Hence, it is not without evidence when one claims that the U.S. has been blessed with God's favor. I hope the Americans (be it individuals or government) don't mess it up with by forgetting what you were fighting for to begin with.
The Hopes
As America begins the new decade from the past mistakes, it is my hope that it will still lead the world in many fields such as aerospace, medical, biotech and nanotech.  It is also my wish that America will not just focus on home security and trade protectism.

God Bless America!

P.S. On a more personal note, I've set foot on more states (27 of them) than most Americans have done so and I wish that I'll visit the remainder soon as I had done with China.

It's refreshing to see someone who raves about the United States without doting too much over New York City.

nice write up. There's actually a voter approved train system budgeted at $ 600-800 million to be built in California; this train to supposed to reach speeds up to 200 mph. Nice thought-provoking commentary on H-wood and NYSE.

Yes, I read about that plan but frankly, I'm not sure it'll be a success. In Singapore where the public transport system is very convenient, people who are used to driving still chose to drive regardless. And that's a small country! Imagine you've been driving all your life, I'm not so sure if drivers in the U.S. will use the trains from point to point. So, what happens after you get to the other city? Rent another car? Overall, it doesn't seem to solve anything other than having the domestic airlines go out of business!

Quick Tip by . June 26, 2012
We are a shell of our former selves. Faith in God, hard work and respect for the rule of law are no longer valued as much as they once were. Opportunity is disappearing. The policies that we are pursuing are a recipe for disaster. We have planted the seeds of our own destruction and a dumbed down and largely disengaged population cannot even see it. Very sad indeed.

While we might have a few problems (and lately they've been racking up quite a bit), I'd still never dream of moving away from my home country.

A country with advanced tech & also a superpower. Most notable sights being the Grand Canyon & Yellowstone National Park. Beautiful places!
