Perfect Christmas Gift

I've been using the v-moda vibe for about a month now with my iPhone 3G and I absolutely love this baby. Although I have a huge music collection as well as three iPods, I never considered buying high end earbuds until about a month ago when the standard Apple earphones busted from my loud music.

After reading the reviews on apple.com, I first went to my local retailer to see what they had in stock. Most of the earbuds I found there were not phone compatible. That is, they didn't have mouth  pieces.

I decided to get the v-moda vibe right off the Apple website. I mean, a product with 4 stars after over 300 reviews has got to be good, right? I got the earbuds and I was completely blown away!

Not only is the sounds quality excellent, but the buds can withstand the deep bass I force through them while running at the gym. While watching movies on my iPhone, the buds carry each and every nuance of the show straight to my head. The mouthpiece works great and has a button that acts like a phone hook as well as controlling itunes when not on a call. The buds themselves fit perfectly in my ears and, when no music is playing, act like earplugs drowning out the world.

Pros:
1. Phenomenal bass response. It doesnt have the "please make me deaf" kind of bass, but has a rich uniform bass
2. Mid range and highs are also great and crisp
3. The fit and maintenance are both super easy. No clogging, not 'ear wax cleaning tools' etc
4. The "seal" is also great - and importantly, consistent. Also, the seal pretty much isolates most sound
5. Fits right, no slipping even when you are walking or running

Cons:
None so far.

They do get clogged with wax. There's no way to clean them as far as I have found. They do sell protective earbuds separately. They don't tell you about this in the packaging or on the box. This protective earbud adds an extra $20 to the price. It's not likely you'll go looking for them until it's too late. Meaning after they have clogged with wax or other debris. For me it took about 6 months. The Etymotics, which have a more precise way of reproducing the music come with wax filters. They don't have the extra bass the v-modas do.

Hm, I haven't had the problem yet. Thanks for the tip!

I agree with your review. However after owning these ear phones after a couple moths the casing began to unravel and show the wires. I loved the ear phones, but I need better quality for the price.

These came in a package that looked like it was designed by Apple. Black matte finish, clear windows, even magnets to hold it shut. However, when I tried to open it, I found it nearly impossible to remove the headphones, and I had to completely destroy the packaging in the process. Make sure you have a strong light and a good pair of kitchen shears for that one. (Hint: If something isn't coming out, look for tiny, almost hair-thin ties that hold things into the plastic. )      After …

If you are living on the go (and who isn't these days) you might be happy with your out of the box iPod earphones for your listening of your MP3 player and/or phone. You might be HAPPY but there IS more. More in this case comes from the quality and craftsmanship of the V-Moda Vibe II earphones. Taking the bud architecture and kicking it up a notch, you will not only get a better sounding experience from anything that uses a 3.5mm jack but you will look SEXIER doing so!! With a smooth black finish …
